AN UNRIVALED ENVIRONMENT Zahara de los Atunes

The Zahara Beach and El Cortijo de Zahara hotels sleep in the arms of Zahara de los Atunes, one of the most seductive corners of the coast in Andalusia. Located to the south of the province of Cádiz and just over 170 kilometers from Seville, Zahara de los Atunes is located at the foot of the Sierra del Retín and the mouth of the Cachón River.

The name Zahara comes from the Andalusian Arabic, meaning "wild and rocky"; and the almadraba, the ancient art for fishing tuna in the strait, gives this place its last name.

Thanks to the mild climate, its unspoiled landscape, its gastronomy and nightlife, Zahara de los Atunes has become one of the most important places for coastal tourism in Andalusia. Naturally, its people – friendly and courteous like good people from Cádiz – are another good reason to come and enjoy this experience. The cultural offer is wide: its nightly concerts are especially well-known and the craft markets sprinkle the streets of the town.
